1 hour, age 2-3 years, parent participation required
Purpose: To allow children to learn the basics of gymnastics in a fun learning environment.
With the assistance of an adult, your child will experience all apparatus in the gym (bars, beam, floor mats, foam pits, rings, rope, vault and trampoline). Every week will follow a specific theme such as Dinosaur Day, Blues Clues Day, etc. to allow for a different set up of equipment. This structured class is cheerful and fun. It offers lots of repetition for the young child to learn and the chance to remember key skills. Kid sized equipment is used to develop confidence in their own skill levels. Balls, hoops, ribbons and bean bags allow the child to experience other activities to develop fine motor skills, rhythm and listening skills.
The adult will also learn safety tips and spotting methods. DID YOU KNOW that you should never hold onto your child by the hand while walking on high objects? If they fall, you could easily dislocate the shoulder, elbow or wrist due to lack of support.
